Ms. Philine Bracht was educated in product design in Germany (BA) and the USA (MA). During over 25 years in the design profession she worked as design manager, as facilitator of design events and curator of exhibitions, as educator and consultant. She has been teaching product design at UCLA (USA), Dongseo University (Korea), HfG-O (Germany) and the School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her focus has always been on human centered design including ‘design for silver age’. Her expertise is in developing and guiding creativity and problem solving processes and cross cultural communication to power design innovation. She lives in Hong Kong.

Mr. Elmond Cheung is Head of LOG-ON Business Unit, Hong Kong Market of City Super Limited. He is responsible for the LOG-On business, business planning, and business development of the Hong Kong Market. Elmond has been in the retail industry for more than 16 years. Prior to joining City Super Limited, he held senior positions and worked in several business areas including food business, overseas business development and information technology in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China

Professor Ed Dorsa is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Industrial Design Program at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  He has co-taught an Interdisciplinary Product Development Studio, a cross-disciplinary methodology that encourages an entrepreneurial approach to opportunity identification and the development of products and services, with faculty from Computer Engineering, Marketing, and other departments. 

 

Professor Ed Dorsa is past Vice President of Education for the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), served a four-year term on the Commission on Accreditation for the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD), the body that accredits ID programs in the U.S., and continues to serve on accreditation visits both nationally and internationally. 
In 2005 he was named one of the "Most Admired" industrial design faculty in the United States by Design Intelligence.

Walter Ma opened his first boutique –“Vee” after his graduation from the Hong Kong Institute of Design in 1975. As a Hong Kong fashion designer, he was the pioneer in establishing his own label in Hong Kong. Fashion to Mr. Ma, has to be comfortably wearable, but a designer also has to find a breakthrough within a limited space so as to present the character and extraordinary elements from simplicity.

Mr. Ivan Ting Tien Li, Director of Kader Industrial Company Limited.

 

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Politics and Economics from Middlebury College, Vermont.

 

Upon joining Kader in 1997, he focused on upgrading the model railroad products and was also instrumental in launching the Bachmann China brand.

 

Mr. Ivan Ting was Chairman of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization – Hong Kong Chapter 2006-2007 and on the Hong Kong Toys Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council 2003-2014.  He is currently serving as a Global Board Member of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Exporters Association. He represents Kader on the Hong Kong Toys Council.  He also acts as a director of the Hong Kong Plastics Manufacturers’ Association and is a member of the Wuxi Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.

Agatha Tsang, founder of Bon Bone Design (1999). She was first trained as graphic designer and illustrator in HK reputable design schools, and worked in graphics and advertising as well as illustration field at the beginning of her career. In 1989, she studied French and cultural subjects in Aix-en-Provence, France. In the following year, she then further her studies in École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle (Paris) and graduated in 1993 holding a Master Degree in Industrial Design. Agatha had been Creative Manager in Shenzhen ID, TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Ltd., Project & Creative Consultant in DELSEY where she enjoys working with international design teams of the company.

Xin holds a PhD in Design from Carnegie Mellon University with research interests in interaction and experience design, service and strategic design, and cultural studies. He looks at how design, both professionally and philosophically, contributes to transformations of lifestyles, businesses and societies.

Xin has spoken internationally and conducted workshops on interaction design and cultural innovation, and served as a jury member on design competitions including GMarkt, IXDA and RedStar. His contributions has been recognized and awarded as the Future Voice of Interaction Design 2015 by the IXDA, 2014 “Silver Metal of Contribution to Design” by Dragon Design Foundation, and 2013 “1O Best Industrial Design Educator of China” from Chinese Industrial Design Association, etc.
