Designers 2013 were sponsored to exhibit and present their winning designs successfully at Ambiente, Frankfurt 2014

Organized by The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association, the first “Breaking the Cocoon, Sparkling Hong Kong” project has completed on 14th February, 2014.

HKSGDA winning entries showcased at Ambiente 2014 Frankfurt

A "Design HK” Pavilion has been built up to showcase the creativity and excellence of Hong Kong Gifts Design to the world by exhibiting the winning products of HKSGDA 2013 and image of awarded entries of HKSGDA 2012 at Ambiente, Messe Frankfurt, Germany 2014, the most important trade fair of consumer goods, and the central forum for the industry. 144,000 buyers from 161 countries attended the fair, more than half of the trade visitors came from outside Germany. More than 3,000 potential buyers visit "Design HK" Pavilion during the 5-day event.


8-day "Inspiration Designer Tour" in Germany

Riding on this worldwide platform, an “Inspiration Designer Tour” has been arranged to nurture new design talents. The first top ten designers of Gold, Silver, Bronze and Judges Awards of HKSGDA 2013 participated in the Ambiente Fair. They were able to share product design concept and features of their winning entries through scheduled Guided Tours. At the same time, they obtained up-to-date trend and product information by visit design compeitions "Design Plus" and "solutions" winning entries exhibitions organized by the Fair,  HKSDA 2013 Merit Award winner "Flatware Organizer" also pick by "solutions 2014". They also gain inspirations of future development in product design with other emerging young designers from all over the world. 


Furthermore, the tour includes visitation and exchange programs of German Design Council and IHK Frankfurt am Main und Darmstadt. as well as visit renowned Museum für Moderne Kunst and koziol Factory Museum. They were invited by well-known Karstadt Department Store to visit their flag-ship store in Zeil Street, together with meeting with its procurement team. These programs will inspire designers to consolidate the necessary skillsets involved with design and service to enhance their competitiveness in the evolving market and further strengthen HK’s image as design capital, hence sparkling Hong Kong.
